All three Afghanistan spinners, Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi and Mujeeb Zadran (also called Mujeeb Ur Rahman), made remarkable progress in ICC ratings following the 3-0 whitewash over Bangladesh in the recently concluded T20 Internationals at Dehradun. Rashid was already 26 ahead of second-ranked Shadab Khan, of Pakistan. He gained 54 points to reach 813 and extend his lead to 80. To give an idea of how ahead Rashid is of others, one can look at the next names on the list Shadab (733), Yuzvendra Chahal (706), and Ish Sodhi (700).

Nabi has reached 638 to secure the eighth spot. Both the rating and the ranking are his career-best. Mujeeb has played only 5 matches. His ratings after the matches read 19, 144, 240, 339, and now 411 (the rankings read 173, 131, 94, 71,and now 51). His rise has been astonishing.

Interestingly, the top nine spots in ICC T20I ratings for bowlers are occupied by (in order) Rashid, Shadab, Chahal, Sodhi, Samuel Badree, Mitchell Santner, Imran Tahir, Nabi, and Imad Wasim, all of whom are spinners. Jasprit Bumrah, at 10th, is the highest-ranked seamer. Of Bangladeshis, Mustafizur Rahman (who did not play the series) and Shakib Al Hasan occupy 11th and joint 12th spots respectively.

Samiullah Shenwari has reached 44th spot among batsmen. Of Bangladeshis, Mahmudullah has reached 33rd and Mushfiqur Rahim 41st. Despite his drop, Sabbir Rahman holds the highest spot among Bangladeshi batsmen (19th). Mohammad Shahzad, 9th across the world, continues to hold top spot among Afghans.

There has been no change of places in the ICC T20I Team Rankings. Afghanistan and Bangladesh retaining their 8th and 10th positions respectively.

Pakistan will gain a point if they beat Scotland 2-0 and reach 131. Even a 1-1 draw will keep them on 127, 1 ahead of 2nd-ranked Australia. However, a 0-2 defeat will see them side to 123, below Australia (126) and on decimal points, India (123).
