Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) look for a change in the coaching staff, as they do not wish to continue with former India cricketer Lalchand Rajput as team s coach. Rajput, who is working with the team for over a year now, saw the team become a full member of International Cricket Council (ICC) under his tenure. Afghanistan s performance in this season has been phenomenal, as they won six out of the ten series they played over the time. They had another feather of prestige added to their hat, having played at the iconic Lord s Cricket Ground against MCC XI.

“ACB would like to thank Mr. Rajput for his satisfactory performance during his time as Afghanistan’s Head Coach,” ACB revealed in a report published EspnCricinfo. After sunny days in terms of performance of the team, ACB is going through some turbulence, as a result of the strike of more than 30 officials as a sign of protest against the political influence of the big shots on the board. Many employees have been sacked and the ones showing protest have raised finger at board Chairman Atif Mashal and chief executive Shafiqullah Stanikzai. However, Mashal denied of any such influences in the board. “This uprising is a result of a few people getting fired, which was because of new structure and reforms. Now we are a Full Member and we have introduced new structure and will be bringing reforms to ACB. Board is in loop and in our last special board meeting it was decided to introduce new structure and start reforms and we are committed to cricket development and will continue the reforms, he said about the incident.
