Afghanistan didn’t have the start they expected chasing 155 as they lost Mohammad Shahzad (7) in the fourth over. Tendai Chatara, Zimbabwe‘s most economical bowler in their last win got the first two wickets for his team dismissing the openers. However, Afghanistan managed to chase down the total under 30 overs with 6 wickets remaining.

Rahmat Shah and Nasir Jamal’s 69 run partnership leaded Afghanistan to their second win in the five match ODI series. Both these batsmen registered half centuries with scores 56 and 50 respectively.

Zimbabwe never looked in the game even though they managed to pick up 4 wickets. They did get early breakthrough but failed to maintain pressure. Graeme Cremer the highest wicket-taker for Zimbabwe in the series picked up one wicket leaking 50 runs in his 9 overs.

Rashid (11) has picked most number of wickets in the series so far and Rahmat is the top run scorer with 213 runs in three matches. Afghanistan would look to seal the series in the fourth ODI on February 16.

Earlier in the match Rashid with his five-for and Mujeeb Zadran with figures 3 for 45 winded up the Zimbabwean innings for 154 under 35 overs.
