Indian pacers Mohit Sharma and Dhawal Kulkarni will continue to stay with the national squad in Australia till the warm-up games of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. Both Mohit and Kulkarni are not a part of the 15-man Indian squad for the tournament starting February 14.

According to the Hindustan Times, the extended stay in Australia for Mohit and Kulkarni could also be because of the fact that Ishant Sharma, the lead pacer is down with knee injury and is yet to attain complete fitness.

A source said, “Mohit and Dhawal have been asked to stay with the team till the warm-up games at least as injury backups. We will get an update on Ishant’s injury when we have the next nets session in Adelaide.”

The report added that Mohit and Kulkarni have been with the team to help manage the workload of the other bowlers, who have been in Australia since November 2014.
