A charity match will take place on 6th September’ 2015 between Lords & Commons Cricket Club and Wellingborough Old Grammarians. The surprising aspect of this match is that it is a match between English MPs (member of parliament). MP for Wellingborough Rushden Peter Bone, MP for Corby and East Northamptonshire Tom Pursglove are the chief MPs in this match. Both the politicians are from Conservative Party. The match will be a welcome break for the MPs from their daily work. The match is deliberately scheduled for Sunday (day after tomorrow) so that a lot of local people come to see the match. According to a report by Northamptonshire Telegraph; Alistair Burt, MP for North East Bedfordshire and Minister of State for Care and Support, John Hayes, MP for South Holland and the Deepings and Minister of State for Security, and Amanda Solloway, MP for Derby North are other MPs that will feature in the two teams. The match will raise money to help improve lives of breast cancer patients at Kettering and Northampton general hospitals. Bone said, “I am delighted that the Lords & Commons Cricket Club, one of the oldest cricket clubs in the land, will be playing their first ever match in Northamptonshire, in aid of the fantastic Crazy Hats charity. Admission to the ground will be free, but there will be a collection and a raffle. I do hope as many local people as possible will be able to come along.” READ: Cricket match for child healthcare awareness played between MPs and journalists

Pursglove said that the match is a nice initiative and it will do its bit to help breast cancer patients, “Prior to my election, I had the great honour of taking Glennis Hooper, the remarkable founder of the Crazy Hats charity, to 10 Downing Street to meet the Prime Minister. Crazy Hats is a phenomenal charity which does so much to support those suffering from breast cancer and their families – I am delighted that, with the help of the Wellingborough Old Grammarians, we are able to put this groundbreaking charitable game on.”
