North was also dropped after string of poor performances in the last 12 months.<br /> <br /> According to <em>Sydney Morning Herald</em>, <a href="/tags/Simon-Katich/post" target="_blank">Simon Katich</a> will lead the 15-man squad of the Scorchers with spinner <a href="/tags/Brad-Hogg/post" target="_blank">Brad Hogg</a> also named in the side, while Ashton Agar also featuring in the side. Scorchers also have South African fast bowler Alfonso Thomas rejoining their squad.<br /> <br /> The likes of Nathan Coulter-Nile and <a href="/tags/Michael-Hussey/post" target="_blank">Michael Hussey</a> couldn’t be considered as they were selected by their respective Indian Premier League franchises Mumbai Indians and <a href="/tags/Chennai-Super-Kings/post" target="_blank">Chennai Super Kings</a> respectively.
