Former Australia fast bowler Max Walker, passed away on September 27 and 28, after battling with cancer. Walker is known for his unusual bowling action. He complemented fast bowling legends Dennis Lillee and Jeff Thompson back in his days. He was multi-talented and tried his hand in many other ventures. He was nickenamed ‘tangles’ – as his bowling action was such that he often landed on the wrong foot while releasing the ball. Australia’s former cricketer Ian Chappell had mentioned, Walker was unwell for past few days. In order to give condolences, the cricket fraternity came forward and expressed their views on the legendary bowler Max Walker.

Chappell told The Guardian, that Walker was ‘in a bad shape’. Commentator Kerry O’Keefe too expressed his sadness. In an official statement, Chief Executive Officer of Cricket Victoria said, “It is with great sadness that we learned of Max’s sudden passing today. We offer our heartfelt condolences to the Walker family and their friends at this difficult time. A gentlemen of his era, Max was able to be part of some moments that will be cherished forever in cricket history and will continue to inspire future generations.”

Cricketers like David Warner, Steven Smith, Tom Moody, Adam Gilchrist and many others who expressed their sadness. Commentator Kerry O’Keefe also tweeted on huge loss for Australia cricket. Cricket Australia said Walker played 34 Tests between 1972-73 and 1977. He took 138 wickets at 27.47 and played 17 one-day internationals.
