MS Dhoni achieved another landmark during the third T20I between England and India at County Ground, Bristol on July 8. Dhoni became the first wicketkeeper in the world to take 50 catches in T20Is. No other wicketkeeper has not even taken 35 catches. The next two on the list are Denesh Ramdin and Quinton de Kock with 34 and 30 catches respectively. Dhoni reached this landmark in his 94th T20I match.
It was the big wicket of Jason Roy who was smashing the Indian bowlers to every corner of the ground. Deepak Chahar playing his maiden T20I bowled a short ball as Roy nicked it to Dhoni. Roy had smashed 67 off 31 to take England’s score over 100 within 10 overs. India dropped Kuldeep Yadav in the match due to the green cover on the pitch. However, it did not favour the pacers as they found no swing in it.
