Zaman instantly went on to become a household name after guiding Pakistan to the title. He will return to England to replace New Zealand all-rounder Corey Anderson in the Somerset side, and will be filling the role left void by South African opener Dean Elgar for the Division One games. Elgar will return to South Africa to prepare for their series against Bangladesh. <p></p> <p></p>Zaman played for Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). He amassed 252 runs at 63 in the Champions Trophy. Somerset's director Matthew Maynard was quoted in a report from <i>Cricbuzz</i>, "It's great to have Fakhar joining us and in addition we will have Dean Elgar back for the final three NatWest T20 Blast group stage games." <p></p> <p></p>Somerset are struggling to stay at Division One of the county championship. The addition of Zaman will be further boost their efforts. Zaman averages over 42 in First-Class cricket. <p></p> <p></p>Anderson played 4 NatWest T20 Blast games before being forced out due to a stress fracture to his back. Somerset are currently placed second in the south group in the NatWest T20 Blast. With 5 matches remaining, they are expected to reach the quarter-final.
