Glenn McGrath has signed up with Channel 7 as commentator as per a report on cricket.com.au. McGrath will join former teammates Ricky Ponting, Damien Fleming, and Michael Slater for this summer’s Tests, four against India and two against Sri Lanka. McGrath and Fleming, once new-ball partners for Australia, will commentate after working together for the 2015 Ashes in England, where they produced videos for cricket.com.au as part of Fast Bowlers Cartel TV.

Channel 7 Head of Cricket Dave Barham welcomed McGrath: “No one speaks with more authority about fast bowling than Glenn and fans will be treated to his unique insights and vast knowledge all summer on Seven.” Channel 7 will broadcast men’s and women’s internationals and BBL for the next six years after signing an historic agreement with Cricket Australia earlier this year.

Fox Sports also signed on as a broadcaster. Their star-studded commentary panel includes Allan Border, Mark Waugh, Adam Gilchrist, Shane Warne, Michael Hussey, Michael Vaughan, Mel Jones, Isa Guha, and Brendon Julian.

As for McGrath, he had appeared for Channel Nine on television and has worked on radio with Macquarie and BBC.

Seven had clinched a $1.182 billion deal to acquire free-to-air rights from Nine and Ten. They will broadcast all men’s Tests, women’s internationals, BBL (43 matches) and Women’s BBL. The men’s ODIs and T20Is will be shown exclusively on Fox Sports, as will the the 16 BBL matches not shown on Seven. Fox will simulcast the matches that will be broadcast by Seven.
