MS Dhoni managed to score 49 off 37 deliveries in 2nd T20I against New Zealand IANS

India have been in splendid form in Tests and ODIs. However, they have relatively struggled so far in the shortest format of the game. Meanwhile, former Indian pacer Ajit Agarkar feels that MS Dhoni is not best suited. He also feels that it can be better for the Indians if they start processing other options apart from Dhoni. Agarkar comments came post India’s defeat in the second T20I against New Zealand, which saw Dhoni entering in the ninth over and managing 49 off 37 deliveries. On Dhoni’s problem while batting in T20Is

“He takes a little bit of time and in T20 there is not time. He came to bat in the 10th over, how many times you get a chance to bat ten overs in a T20. So, that’s enough time for any batsman. India need to look at other options in the T20 for sure. In one-day cricket, they seem to be happy with the role that he is playing. When you stepped in [as captain], it was different. But just as a batsman, will India miss him, I don’t think so. In T20 cricket, it is lot easier to make that transition as there is lot of experience in that team apart from MS Dhoni now,” said Agarkar, as reported by ESPNCricinfo.
