Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram, host of the third T20 International between India and New Zealand, is all set to become the 50th Indian venue to host an international match. The first Indian ground to host an international match was Bombay Gymkhana, back in 1933-34. Almost half a century later (in 1981-82), Sardar Patel Stadium, Ahmedabad became the first Indian ground to host an ODI. And in 2007-08, Brabourne Stadium hosted the first T20I in the country.
India have the most international grounds by a substantial margin. England (23), Australia (21), and Pakistan (21), the next three countries on the list, are way behind. In fact, no two countries can even combine to match India s count.
