The Chennai Super Kings squad tried their luck with some smart football tricks before starting practice on Saturday. The players formed a circle and juggled a football around.

Head coach Stephen Fleming then called for a team huddle after which, the players wrapped up a brief warm-up session.

Along with bowling coach Andy Bichel and trainer Gregory King, Fleming divided his team into two groups for a ‘hit the stumps’ session.

Australia’s Ben Laughlin and West Indies’ Jason Holder walked around in the company of physiotherapist Tommy Simsek.

Chennai’s recent recruit Dirk Nannes manaed to find the stumps with his throw and let out a huge shout following his successful attempt. Meanwhile, Fleming and King were tracking the scores and making sure that ‘work’ was fun for the CSK boys.

“Commit, Commit to the ball. Take a breather now but we aren’t done yet,” he said, as published by The Hindu.

The team then practiced rounds of high catches and relay-throwing with equal enthusiasm. Batsman Subramanium Badrinath then decided to practice big hits in the nets while Michael Hussey and Vijay Shankar also played a few deliveries.

But, the day was largely devoted to fielding practice, something the Chennai team is already good at.
