
The newly constituted, Indian Premier League (IPL) governing council announced the venues for the play off games of IPL 2015 on Monday. On May 20th, Pune will host the eliminator. The Wankhede stadium in Mumbai will host the Qualifier Two on May 22. The Final will be hosted by Eden Gardens, Kolkata as expected. The venue for the Qualifier 1 on May 19 is yet to be announced. IPL 2015 Playoff Fixture:
Qualifier 1: May 19, Venue yet to be announced.
Eliminator: May 20, at Pune
Qualifier 2: May 22 at at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai
Final: May 24 at Kolkata
In a press released published in IPL’s official website, these venues were confirmed. In the governing council meeting, IPL Chairman, Rajeev Shukla briefed the house on the positive response received on the IPL Fan Parks and the house recommended that BCCI should plan for more venues in the next season. The governing council also recognized the momentous occasion of the IPL celebrating its 500th match at Brabourne Stadium (Cricket Club of India, Mumbai) on 3rd May 2015 between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Daredevils. The council also supported the proposal of the Chairman, Shukla, to consider supporting the blind cricket team of India, who recently won the World Cup.
