<p dir="ltr"><a href="http://www.cricketcountry.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/root13.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-730698" alt="root13" src="http://www.cricketcountry.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/root13.jpg" width="628" height="355" /></a></p> <p></p><p dir="ltr">The England and Wales Cricket Board (<a href="http://www.cricketcountry.com/tag/ECB">ECB</a>) today unveiled <a href="http://www.cricketcountry.com/teams/england/">England</a> s greatest Test XI based on fan votes ahead of their historic 1000th Test at Edgbaston against <a href="http://www.cricketcountry.com/teams/india/">India</a> in the series opener of the five match series starting Thursday.</p> <p></p><p dir="ltr">Among active cricketer, England s all-time leading run-scorer in Tests <a href="http://www.cricketcountry.com/players/Alastair-Cook/">Alastair Cook</a> (12145), England's highest wicket-taker in Test, <a href="http://www.cricketcountry.com/players/James-Anderson/">James Anderson</a> (540) and current captain <a href="http://www.cricketcountry.com/players/Joe-Root/">Joe Root</a> feature in the list, while former England skipper <a href="http://www.cricketcountry.com/players/Kevin-Pietersen/">Kevin Pietersen</a> also got the fans vote.</p> <p></p><p dir="ltr"><strong>ALSO READ: <a title="Numbers: England s 1000th Test" href="http://www.cricketcountry.com/articles/englands-1000th-test-match-the-story-in-numbers-730559">Numbers: England s 1000th Test</a></strong></p> <p></p><p dir="ltr">Cricket fans from across the country were invited to pick their team from over 100 players ranging from WG Grace in the 1880s to current Test captain Joe Root in a survey completed by over 6,000 England cricket fans.</p> <p></p><p dir="ltr">The team will be celebrated with a day of activity at Edgbaston on day three of the Specsavers Test against India on Friday 3 August.
