Machan, aged 26, is struggling with a recurring wrist injury that forced him to take such a decision. Machan represented Scotland in the ICC 2015 World Cup and T20 World Cup 2016. Machan missed out on domestic action for Sussex in the later half of 2016. He has featured in 36 matches across One-Day and T20 Internationals for Scotland, scoring 1,141 runs with six fifties and one century to his name. He further added, Following medical advice, my long-term health is most important to me and I have to take that into account. I believe as a batsman I was only just starting to come into my own and it is a real shame that this has been cut short so early as I believe I had so much still to offer Sussex over the next few years. <p></p> <p></p>Machan has been with Sussex since the age of 10, and qualified to play for Scotland thanks to the nation being his mother s homeland. Machan s finest moment came in the T20 WC where he guided Scotland to a win over Hong Kong, scoring 15 off 4. <p></p> <p></p>His best ODI scores against full member side are against Australia (40) and New Zealand (56); both in 2015 WC. <p></p> <p></p>&nbsp; <p></p> <p></p>&nbsp;
