They started with a win over Bangladesh and ended it by routing Bangladesh, but sandwiched between these series were miseries. They lost to South Africa at home, were knocked out in the group stage of Champions Trophy and could not cross the finish line in India. They not only lost their first ever T20I against India but also lost their first series. The 6-run defeat at Thiruvananthapuram also saw the No.1 T20I Ranking leave them. <p></p> <p></p>Pakistan were at the No.1 spot. They had managed wins against the World XI and Sri Lanka. India s 3-0 whitewash over Sri Lanka saw them climb to the No.2 spot. <p></p> <p></p>New Zealand made 2018 special by regaining the top rank. They dominated West Indies 3-0 to jump to the top spot from third position. He slammed 104 off 53 balls. It was his third T20I hundred in a span of 1 year. He also became the only cricketer to register 3 hundreds in T20Is. <p></p> <p></p>West Indies, the world champions in this format, have slid to the fifth position following the whitewash. They have 115 ratings.
