Yo-Yo test was made mandatory last year during India‘s tour of Sri Lanka when Ravi Shastri was appointed as head coach. A failure in the test saw Yuvraj Singh and even Suresh Raina being dropped from the side. According to reports in Mirror it is learnt that players who are a part of the the Afghanistan Test and limited over series will have to go through the test.
The players who fail to achieve a certain level of fitness will be dropped from the team adds the report. The Test squad will undergo the test this weekend whereas the squad for Ireland and England series will have their test on June 15. Afghanistan’s debut Test is scheduled to be played at Bangaluru starting from June 14. Whereas, India’s tour of Ireland and England starts from July 3.
