Sabbir Rahman was recently banned for six month from domestic cricket and fined TK 20 lakhs for assaulting a fan during a First-Class match in Rajshahi. However, Sabir who is currently practicing for the Bangladesh tri series 2018 told reporters that he wants to move on from the past and make an impact.

“It has had a huge impact on me at a personal level, but as a professional cricketer, I treat it past is past, I am trying to recover from it, and not let it affect me in the tri-series,” Sabbir said.

Sabbir’s aggressive nature has got him in trouble many times, however he is not ready to compromise on his aggression which has already earned him three demerit points.

“I am an aggressive player and I always like to remain that way. I am not thinking too much about the demerit points because there is no problem whether it is 1 or 10, all that matters [for me] is performing well in the series,” he said.

Sabbir admitted that he has been out of form lately but has worked on playing spin and is keen to make a strong comeback.

“I might have had some poor performances off late but I am well prepared. I have tried to strengthen my weak points. I will try to do well in the upcoming matches. I worked on playing spin; playing off the front foot. I want to make a strong comeback,” he said.

The tri series between Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe will start from January 15.
