
The second One-Day International between England and Pakistan saw the hosts winning the game by four wickets and gain a lead of 2-0 in the five-match series. English speedster, Liam Plunkett, made it to the headlines for cupping an incredible catch at covers and bringing an end to Hasan Ali‘s innings. Ali wanted to get some quick runs in the twilight of Pakistan’s innings and picked a slower one from Chris Woakes to smash it through covers. Though he got the timing right right but lacked power, still, the ball was travelling at a good speed. Plunkett was deployed at covers, who dived towards his left and grabbed the red leather with his left hand to pull off a stunner. This was undoubtedly one of the best catches taken in the recent times.
Pakistan were bowled out for 251 after which, England won the game by four wickets. Joe Root and Eoin Morgan engineered, England’s runc-chase and carried their team over the line.
