New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson is known for his flawless batting but when it comes to fielding, he is not much behind either. On Day 1 of the ongoing first Test between South Africa and New Zealand at Kingsmead, Durban, captain Kane grabbed a stunning catch.

Hosts South Africa were already four down and were in a spot of bother. It was the time for South African captain Faf du Plessis to score some big runs but after playing 80 odd balls and collecting 23 runs, he lost his wicket because of Williamson’s excellent athleticism at gully. ALSO READ: When Sehwag asked Williamson ‘Ab, kya karoge’ and hailed Roger Federer as an “inspiration”

On the third ball of the 58th over, which was being bowled by pacer Neil Wagner a bit fuller outside the off stump, du Plessis went for a drive but ended up getting a thick outside edge from his bat, which Williamson brilliantly pouched by diving towards his right to complete a grounded catch. That was truly outstanding from Williamson.

Later, New Zealand bowlers continued to do good work with the ball and the day ended with South Africa’s score at 236 for the loss of eight wickets.
