Makhaya Ntini is unlikely to be contracted again by Zimbabwe once his two-year stint as bowling coach comes to an end, reports suggest. While Ntini s current contract lasts till come January, some rumours suggest that Zimbabwe may end it even earlier. It is also reported that several team players have complained against Ntini. The World Cup 2019 qualifiers will start from March, 2018 and Zimbabwe will be eager to get a set support staff well before that. However, Zimbabwe Cricket, clarified no discussion has taken place regarding any of the coaches contracts, and has denied the probabilities of Ntini being sacked. ZC denies in the strongest possible terms any suggestions that Makhaya has been sacked, Zimbabwe Cricket s managing director Faisal Hasnain told ESPNCricinfo. When his contract comes up for renewal, will we deal with it in the manner we deal with all our contracts. Makhaya is a valued member of our staff, he is highly respected and he has done some great work. He has his hands full preparing the team for the matches against Netherlands, Pakistan A and then the two Tests against West Indies.”

With Brendan Taylor making a comeback to the Zimbabwe national team, the strengths of the team have been replenished and the management will be eager not to let any dispute in support staff be the reason of the underperformance of the team. Zimbabwe s stand with the coaching staff and selection of captain has been controversial of late, with frequent changes. Zimbabwe had earlier sacked Dav Whatmore to later bring in Heath Streak as their head coach, while Ntini was made the interim coach in the intermediate period.
