On this day, nine years back, Indian cricket team did something very special and unexpected as they defied all odds by winning the inaugural World T20 in 2007. There were numerous reasons behind that win and it was a special one. Prior to that tournament, India had an awful run in the ICC World Cup 2007. Also, India was the one who were not in favour of Twenty20 (T20) format in international cricket and eventually, they ended up being the first team to taste success in this tournament.

There were many players from the Indian side who stood up in the tournament and gave plenty of memorable moments to Indian fans. One of those players was Gautam Gambhir and Irfan Pathan. Gambhir was man who played an excellent knock of 75-run in the final, which actually turned the game in favour of India and Pathan was the bowler who did an exceptional job with the ball by scalping three crucial wickets against Pakistan. Pathan removed Younis Khan, Shoaib Malik and Shahid Afridi and conceded only 16-run from his spell of 4-overs. On this special occasion of India’s 9th anniversary to that heroic win; Gambhir and Pathan recollect their memories through their tweets.

After Gambhir’s tweet, Pathan responded him with another tweet by mentioning Harbhajan Singh, Yuvraj Singh, Robin Uthappa, Virender Sehwag and his brother Yusuf Pathan, who were the part of that champion team.

Currently, both Gambhir and Pathan are not a part of the Indian side but both are toiling hard to get back in the team through domestic performances.
