Chris Jordan Biography

Chris Jordan is one player a captain would want to have in his side. He is a good medium-pacer and a very competitive batsman, who can score some crucial runs. And, to go with that, he is an excellent fielder. Bill Athey, the former England cricketer, unearthed him in 2005 when he went to Barbados to look for a young talent. Jordan’s grandparents’ British origins helped him qualify to play for England and he was taken to Dulwich on a cricket scholarship.

At the age of 18, Jordan made his First-Class debut for Surrey. Over the years, he progressed steadily, although an injury did hamper him in 2010. And, then he hit a hurdle in 2012 when Surrey released him. Though at crossroads, Jordan found redemption with Sussex.

In 2013, he was picked for the one-day side after the Ashes and was then on the flight to Australia early next year. Jordan also featured in the ICC World T20 2014. During the 2014 summer, he impressed further during the one-day series against Sri Lanka, where he recorded his maiden fifer and was then handed a Test cap at Lord’s.
