Colin Munro Biography

Colin Munro made his First-Class debut for Auckland in 2006 as a fast bowler. However, over years, he mastered in hard-hitting as well. He made an impact right away, removing Michael Papps on debut, and finishing with 3 for 57.

It took him six years to book a berth in New Zealand’s ODI and T20I sides. He also earned a Test cap against South Africa, where he failed with bat but picked up two wickets. He is considered a suitable candidate for limited-overs cricket instead of Tests.

He made a comeback in the national side after a stellar show in George Pie Super Smash 2015-16. That display earned him a place in New Zealand team for T20 World Cup. He made a name for himself after scoring a 14-ball half-century against Sri Lanka at Eden Park, which was, at that time, the second-fastest T20I fifty.

He was later picked by Kolkata Knight Riders squad in IPL 2016 auction.
