Matt Machan Biography

With a healthy average in the beginning of his blossoming career, Matt Machan has cemented his place in the Scotland side for the World Cup 2015 as well as the time to come.

A right-handed batsman, Machan is also a handy spinner. Machan averaged in excess of 57 from his 20 First-Class matches, showing all signs of Scotland having a fine batsman in their ranks. He played for Sussex as a top-order batsman, and he has all the credentials to develop into a fine batsman if nurtured properly. He also reached double-figures in his first 16 ODIs.

Machan also has a good conversion rate when it comes to scoring runs in the shortest format of the game. Scotland will want to develop his career to the level from where he can become a world-class player one day. Like any other player from Scotland, he needs exposure at the highest level to prove himself.
