Afghanistan vs Ireland in India 2017

Following a commendable performance in the recent tour of Zimbabwe, Afghanistan get set to face off against the unpredictable minnows Ireland in a Twenty20 International (T20I) and One-Day International (ODI) series in India. The matches are slated to be played at the Greater Noida Sports Complex Ground. Ireland, on the other hand, are coming off an impressive winning performance in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), by beating them 2-0 in the ODI series, and registering a clean sweep, will be charged up as well, as they go head to head against Afghanistan, who are indeed one of the rising sides in Asia, and can well prove to be dangerous for the Irish side.

The series is scheduled to begin with the T20Is, with the opening game to be played on March 8, followed by the second T20I on March 10, while the third and final T20I will be played on March 12. Following the conclusion of the T20Is, a five-match ODI series will follow, as the first match will be played on March 15, followed by the second ODI on March 17, while the third and fourth ODIs will be played on March 19 and 22, respectively, as the fifth and final ODI will be played on March 24 to mark the end of the series. This would also be the first time both the teams would be playing a bilateral series in India.
