England tour of West Indies, 2015

England and West Indies clash in the latest edition of the Wisden Trophy, which is scheduled to be held during the months of April and May later this year in the latter’s backyard. It will be the 15th edition of the series, the first of which was held back in 1930, as well as the first international cricket series to take place after the conclusion of the ICC World Cup 2015, the final of which will take place on March 29.

The West Indian pitches have had a history of being balanced. While it does not offer much turn for spinners, which could be exploited by the batsmen to get some runs in their way, it can offer some assistance to pacers, especially with the movement, especially on tracks such as Kingston [Sabina Park] and Port-of-Spain [Queen’s Park Oval].

England and West Indies are expected to be captained by Alastair Cook and Denesh Ramdin respectively. Both England and West Indies have gone through a lot of controversies recently, especially with Cook’s exit from the ODI squad and Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard getting axed from the West Indies one-day squad. Both incidents took place right before the onset of the World Cup. The two teams will look to put that behind them, and start a new leaf with this series.
