ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers, 2018

The 2018 ICC World Cup Qualifier will be played in March 2018 in Zimbabwe. The top two teams will qualify for the 2019 World Cup, joining the existing eight teams that have qualified through ICC ODI Championship.
Zimbabwe won the bid to host the event. The other contenders were UAE, and Scotland and Ireland jointly. Bangladesh were scheduled to host the event but they gained direct qualification.

West Indies, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and Ireland were the bottom four in the ICC ODI Rankings by the cut-off date of September 30, 2017 and as a result they qualified for this tournament. Netherlands, Scotland, Hong Kong and Papua New Guinea(PNG) qualified by finishing in the top four of World Cricket League (WCL) Championship.

Nepal and UAE qualified by finishing in the top two spots in the ICC World Cricket League Division Two.
The Group A has Ireland, Netherlands, PNG, UAE and two-time World Cup winners West Indies. The Group B has Afghanistan, Hong Kong, Nepal, Scotland and host Zimbabwe.

The warm-up matches will be played on February 27 and March 1, and the tournament kicks off on March 4 with four games. PNG will face UAE at Harare Sports Club, Ireland will face Netherlands at Old Hararians. Both the matches will be played in Harare.

On the same day, at Bulawayo, Zimbabwe will take on Nepal at Queens Sports Club and Afghanistan will take on Scotland at Bulawayo Athletic Club.
