The Ashes, 2015

England will aim revenge of their 5-0 whitewash in Australia, as they host their arch-rivals in the Ashes 2015 starting July 8 at the Sophia Gardens in Cardiff.

England will hope that they continue to do well at home, as they have not lost an Ashes series in the last decade or so. England won the Ashes affairs at home in 2005, 2009 and 2013 (this is the first time they have won three home Ashes on the trot since 1893), and Alastair Cook and his men would be vying to keep their record intact.

Both the teams have had a good build up to Ashes 2015, with England facing the might of New Zealand for two Tests, a one-off Twenty20 International (T20I) and five One-Day Internationals (ODIs) at home, and Australia playing a two-Test series in the West Indies.

Australia currently hold the Ashes after their impressive show at home in 2013-14, when they ended their misery and registered the only third clean sweep in the history of the contest. Australia are the only team among the two arch rivals to have done so, and that too three times.

For England, who have had turbulent times in the recent past, the challenge will be tough. Australia will be determined to stamp their authority as England are nowhere close to the force they were a couple of years back, and surely, Australia captain Michael Clarke and the other senior players will be eager to end their misery in England.
