On the occasion of the 11th Annual New Year’s lecture at Newlands, speaker and former chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC) cricket committee Clive Lloyd said that the governing body should be the one calling the shots and not Big Three – referring to the Board Of Control For Cricket In India (BCCI), Cricket Australia (CA) and England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

Lloyd spoke in context to last year’s changes to the governance and financial structure of ICC, based on alterations devised by the three boards.

According to him, the reconstruction of ICC on the basis of the BCCI, CA and ECB gave more authority to the three boards.
